    Open Science rewarded: Four Projects to receive the National Prize for Open Research Data

    They offer innovative approaches to reusing research data in interdisciplinary, collaborative, and educational contexts. The winners of the National ORD Prize 2024 are Pathoplexus, ROADS, openwashdata, and ENAC-IT4Research. The awards come with a total prize money of CHF 21,000.

    Swiss Data Literacy Charter as the basis for data literacy

    The Swiss Academies of Arts and Sciences are publishing a Data Literacy Charter for Switzerland. This Charter is intended to initiate a broad-based cultural change in the way society handles general and personal data. One aim is for each person to be in a position to determine how personal data is handled.  A further aim of the Charter is that people should be able to critically evaluate data and statements based on it.

    Adriano Rutz wins the Swiss National ORD Prize

    Dr. Adriano Rutz, a Postdoc at ETH Zurich, wins the first National Prize for Open Research Data (ORD) for “The LOTUS Initiative” project. LOTUS explores new ways of promoting the re-use of data in the fields of biology and chemistry and thus of sharing knowledge in natural products research.

    Call for applications: National Open Research Data Prize 2023

    The Swiss Academies of Arts and Sciences are launching the National Prize for Open Research Data (ORD Prize). This new prize aims to recognize researchers for innovative practices in the field of Open Research Data (ORD) and to promote the transition to open research practices. Applications are open until August 31, 2023.

    Inaugural Meeting of the ORD Sounding Board Researchers

    The first meeting of the ORD Sounding Board Researchers took place at the Casino Bern (Salon Bernois). Organized by Olivia Denk (Specialist for Open Science & Secretary of the Board) and Beat Immenhauser (Delegate for Open Science) from the Swiss Academies, 16 members from different disciplines and career levels were inaugurated on 30 November 2022.
