ORD Sounding Board Researchers Retreat

Two-day "monastery retreat" focusing on evaluating this year's ORD Award applications and recommendations on the topic of research data in the AI era.

In September, we took our ORD Sounding Board researchers for a two-day retreat on St. Peter's Island near Biel. During the stay at the monastery hotel, the board evaluated the numerous outstanding project proposals for the 2025 Swiss National ORD Prize and developed recommendations for making research data more open and accessible in the age of AI.

    Innovative Open Research Data practices impressively demonstrated: The project team “Choice of Law Dataverse” (University of Lucerne) and James Runnalls (Eawag) are this year’s winners of the Swiss National Prize for Open Research Data (ORD Prize). Each prize is endowed with 10,000 Swiss francs.
